How do I book you for a portrait session?

That's the easy part! use my booking website or if you have questions prior to your photoshoot simply contact me through my page and tell me what kind of shoot you'd like (senior, engagement, maternity, modeling, wedding etc.) and a bit more about what you're looking for as far as style. From there, I'll give you a ring and we can further discuss creating some awesome imagery and get a date and location set up.

What's the best time of day to shoot?

Early mornings and late evenings are the best time. I personally prefer the two hours before sunset. Believe it or not, cloudy days are great to shoot on!

What is your turn around time for photos?

Typically, portrait sessions take about two weeks to turn around. Sometimes I don't have a line in front of your session, so you may receive your images sooner.

What happens if I need to cancel or reschedule my shoot?

Life happens. I ask that if you need to reschedule your shoot, please do so within 24 - 48 hours of it.

Do you have a studio?

The world is my studio (I know, deep, right?). I have a small studio in my apartment for LinkedIn profile photos and headshots. However, I do most of my shoots are on location.

Can I change outfits?

I totally encourage you to have at least two different outfits for your shoot. You're going to look awesome.

Can you "Photoshop" me?

I will clean up any blemishes that you may have and make some other small edits, but I will not change your body shape. Be happy and confident in yourself!

Can I post my images on social media?

For sure! They are yours! All I ask is that no additional edits are made to the images. This includes changing color, adding filters, etc. Cropping is totally fine.

How do you deliver your images?

I'll deliver your images via Google Drive or OneDrive. For portrait sessions, you will typically receive 10-20 final high - and low-resolution images.

What happens if it rains?

Cloudy days are some of the bests to shoot in! If it's pouring rain the day of your shoot, then we will reschedule. Unless...you want to get really creative in the rain!

When is payment due and how can I pay?

I ask for 50% of the payment during the agreement and the remaining will be due the day of your shoot. I accept cash, credit card, contactless tap-to-pay, Zelle, Apple Pay, Venmo, and PayPal.

What happens if your camera technology fails?

I always carry two professional camera body with me, and each writes simultaneously on two memory cards, which allow me to have a redundancy of files to ensure that your special moment gets captured and recorded even when technology fails.

Use of Name and Likeness

We reserve the right to take photographs or videos during the operation of any photoshoot or part of and to use the resulting photography in whole or in part for promotional purposes, including, but not limited to advertising and publicity both in print and electronic media. By booking a portrait session with Jean Barrett Photography participants agree to allow their images to be used in such photography; participants who prefer that their image not be used are asked to identify themselves to Jean Barrett.

We also reserve the right to use, in all or in part, any written reviews you may provide to us in our advertising and publicity both in print and electronic media.
